The South Haven Scott Club and Foundry Hall present a three concert series celebrating the Everett concert grand piano housed in the historic South Haven Scott Club building. These concerts are free and open to the community! The series is made possible in part by grants from the Greater South Haven Community Foundation and Entergy Palisades Power Plant.
Classical pianist, accompanies and WMU educator Tina Gorter will perform with trumpeters Keith Geiman and David Bernard for the series on Sunday, 2/9 at 3pm. Tina specializes in collaborative music and we’re excited to present this unique program using the historic Everett piano.
Touring musician Matthew Ball, also known as “The Boogie Woogie Kid”, will showcase his talent with New Orleans and Swing Era favorites from the 20s, 30s and 40s on Sunday, 3/15 at 3pm.
The first concert in November featured jazz pianist Rufus Ferguson of Kalamazoo. A WMU graduate, Rufus is a teacher, arranger, composer and is the Jazz Band Director at Portage Northern High School and rhythm section coach for the Kalamazoo Youth Jazz Orchestra. His arrangements have most recently been presented by his 9-piece ensemble at the 2018 Gilmore Keyboard Festival. He performs for the series on Saturday, 11/16 at 7pm.
